Actress Vindhya Tiwari is basking in the glory after being appreciated for her heavy-duty performance of a terrorist in Star Plus’ popular show, Diya Aur Baati Hum.
When she entered the show, she was shown to be the timid love interest of Vikram (Karan Goddwani), but then went on to don the real avatar of a rough and tough terrorist. From then on, there has been no looking back for Prema, the character she portrays. As Prema, Vindhya has had the toughest of action sequences, and has been shown to be ruthless in the plane hijack track that is being aired right now.
Vindhya claims that she has got the best of feedbacks from the industry and her fans for this role of the terrorist.
“People simply love me in Diya Aur Baati Hum. The sequence that went on air recently where Prema re-hijacks the plane got me great applauses. This role has been the biggest challenge for me, as I am completely opposite of what Prema is,” avers Vindhya.
Vindhya who is seen torturing the travellers in the plane both mentally and physically is upset that she is forced to scold people as Prema. “I am a very soft-spoken person and have never been rude to any elder person in my life. So this made it very difficult for me as an actor to portray the role. However, I always believe in giving my 100percent and I have given it so far. I am happy that my hard work is paying dividends. I am today flooded with messages for my wonderful performance in Diya Aur Baati Hum.”
Ask her about her biggest motivation in her career and she is quick to say, “To be very honest, I love my work and that is the reason I am always happy and try improving myself. My mother and father always watch my episodes and give me a correct and honest feedback. And when they see me performing to that high level where the character looks so natural that everyone can relate to it, they feel proud of their daughter. This happiness in their eyes gives me the energy to do more and more.”
She adds on, “I do my roles with a lot of conviction. If I am not convinced about the role I play, I cannot convince others, isn’t it? I am very true to my work, and believe that the camera is very sensitive and catches it. So it is always good to be true to your work and that is the right way to get connected to the audience.”
Vindhya is now all set to participate in the upcoming Box Cricket League (BCL) in the Kolkata Babu Moshay team. Talking about her cricketing prowess, the actress states, “I am a good bowler, batter and fielder too. Our team is very strong and I hope to contribute a lot to the winning cause.”
Vindhya who has been a champion in school when it comes to sports says, “I have even got a gold medal for my contribution to sports in school. I have played a lot of gully cricket in my colony in Varanasi. And all this is helping me now to play the game.”
Vindhya has done shows like Agle Janam Mohe Bitiy Hi Kijo, Maryaada Lekin Kab Tak?, Mrs. Kaushik ki Paanch Bahuein, Mrs. Pammi Pyarelal and has now bagged an interesting role in Life OK’s upcoming fashion based show, Chamak.
Here is a look at the transformation of Prema, her character in Diya Aur Baati Hum from being a good-looking silent girl to a blunt and aggressive terrorist.
We wish Vindhya all the very best.
