Through Veera, I want to convey the message that I am available for roles on TV – Rohit Bakshi

Rohit Bakshi is back to the TV screens after a hiatus!! He will now play the reality show host in Star Plus’ popular show, Ek Veer Ki Ardaas – Veera (Beyond Dreams Productions).

The actor, who was last seen in a cameo role in 26 13 on Life OK, will play a very mature and successful host cum mentor in the show.

Talking about his role, Rohit said, “I have never played a host in my career. And I sincerely wanted to try it out. Also, the character graph narrated to me was very good and different. Hence I took it up.

Dev, the character I play is a man who wants to achieve his goals in the way known to him. He will go on to have a past with the other mentor played by Shibani Kashyap.”

On his look in the show, the actor averred, “Well, I will not want to reveal much about it. All I can say is that I will sport a very different look. Dev is a well-suited man with long hair. You will have to watch my entry in tonight’s episode to know more about it.”

Rohit’s main aim of taking up this cameo was to negate the misconception in the industry that he prefers to do only films and not television. Clearing the air, Rohit explained, “There is an assumption that I have taken a break from television which is not true. I have always been open to television, but I need a very challenging role to essay.

It is true that I have kept away from TV shows for some time now. Though I have been doing cameos regularly, the regular roles have eluded me. Through my appearance in Veera, I will want to convey the message that I am indeed available to play challenging roles on TV.”
