It took me two days to make Mahima feel comfortable – Ali Hassan

For actor Ali Hassan, the lead role in Zee TV’s Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke (Shakuntalam Telefilms) is more of an experiment as he is cast opposite a young girl in the show. And this prompted him to do a bit of hard work to make his co-star and on-screen love interest Rachana aka Mahima Makwana feel comfortable off-screen for the required on-screen chemistry to blossom.
So what did the actor do? “It took me two days to make Mahima feel comfortable. She was a bit reserved when she first met me and I realised that it was to do with my work. She had seen me earlier on-screen given the fact that I’ve been in the industry for a while now. So I thought of breaking the ice by just casually talking to her. When we first started she kept addressing me as sir and I had to tell her that she could look up to me as a friend and I wasn’t to be taken that seriously,” states the actor.
Luckily the talking worked. “Now she is not at all scared of me. She does not mind breaking into a jig on hearing a song even in front of me.”
You’re paired opposite a 15 year old for the first time ever. “Yes, that was a matter of concern for me, but Mahima is really mature when it comes to acting even though she is young. She even makes faces in front of me now (laughs).”
Way to go Ali!
