The Bong Connection…
At one point of time, makers were obsessed with saas-bahu sagas and now they are obsessing over supernatural dramas. After Naagin 3, Nazar, Qayamat Ki Raat, & TV is all set to come up with another supernatural show. Yes, we are talking about Daayan, that has created a lot of hullabaloos since it was announced. While Tina and Mohit Malhotra will be pairing for the first time, a Bengali actress is all set join the show. We are talking about Mishmee Das, who played leads in Bengali shows like Premer Phandey and Rajjotak.
When we asked her how is she feeling about this big leap, she said, “Obviously I am over the moon. I am excited about this change from regional platform to the national platform. Most importantly I am working with Balaji and I feel blessed.”
So we asked her how did this happen? She said, “Ekta and I met two years back and they bonded over a funny conversation and soon exchanged numbers. So when I moved to Mumbai and started auditioning, I went to Balaji and thus it happened.”
While sharing about her character, Mishmee told us, “I play Tanya, Tina aka Janhvi’s best friend. While Janhvi comes to her hometown in Delhi, I also accompany her. After her shift she starts experiencing all these supernatural things and I am constantly by her side during these times. That’s how I become her best friend.”
Both Tina and Mishmee being Bengalis, they often end up having conversations in Bengali and this sometimes lead to them being teased for. Mishmee revealed that she was extremely nervous and screwed up her scene on the first day but Tina has been calm and composed and helped her throughout. “Tina stood constantly by my side and asked me to calm down. The entire crew helped me a lot with my nervousness,” revealed the actress as she signed off.
