I think its God’s blessing on me that I could raise the TRPs of Naamkarann – Kunwar Amar

The actor, who has quit Mahesh Bhatt’s Naamkarann spills the beans about his exit, experience and journey on the show.

Actor Kunwar Amarjeet Singh who entered Star Plus’ Naamkarann with much pomp and show, will soon be bidding goodbye to the show. The show is all set to take a leap and will be focusing on the grown up Avni.ell

We sat down with Kunwar and quizzed him about the show and the actor had some interesting things to say.

Read on.

Was the show taking a leap, the reason for you to have put in your papers?
Yes, the show is taking a leap, but that’s not the only reason for me to quit. Honestly, I am not game for playing an older character right now. I also feel that post leap, there might be less scope for me to experiment more with my character. Having said this, I want to explore myself more as an actor and play a variety of roles like a lover, a son and an individual man.

How has your journey on the show been so far? Can you tell us about your most memorable scene in the show?
I won’t name one scene as I have so many memories of the show. But yes, my entry scene and my first entry at Avni’s house has been my most favorite scene.

The TRPs of the show went up after your entry…
I don’t believe in taking credits alone and projecting it as if I have done something amazing. It was the combined effort of the writers, the creatives, the directors and everyone else. I think it’s God’s blessing on me that I could raise the show’s TRPs.

This was your first show on a mainstream GEC channel. How was the experience?
The experience was wonderful. I am very thankful to the creative and production team as they took really good care of me. Also, working on a bigger channel is a very different feeling.

Barkha recently exited the show. How was it working with her?
Barkha is a wonderful person. She is very sweet and makes her co-actors really comfortable and hence, working with her becomes fun and easy. We have shared a very good time and rapport. We are very good friends.

You’ve not taken up any saas-bahu dramas yet. Is this a conscious decision to avoid saas bahu shows?
Yes, it is a conscious decision, but it doesn’t mean that I am not willing to do them. If a really good role comes my way, where I can explore myself as an actor, I would take it up.

Well, we wish Kunwar Best of Luck for his future ventures.
