Peninsula Pictures’ production Aladdin Naam Toh Suna Hoga starring young talent Siddharth Nigam in the titular role and the gorgeous Avneet Kaur as princess Yasmine has won many hearts with it’s fun take on the age old fantasy tale of Aladdin and his magic lamp.
Earlier we reported exclusively about the show undergoing a revamp soon. According to our sources, the renewed version will be packaged as Aladdin 2.
In a candid chat with Siddharth Nigam, he shared with us about details of the revamp, changes in his character and the playing an iconic character on screen.
Aladdin 2 is in pipeline, what changes can we expect this time?
Till now Aladdin’s character has been shown as a cute, adorable and fun loving teenager but this time around viewers will notice some changes. First of all, his name will change which will be revealed in the show. Also Aladdin will appear in a new look with new and cool hairstyle and clothes. The show will take a leap of one year and henceforth the characters will be shown a little mature.
Your viewership is mostly children, do you feel they will enjoy the mature story that is about to come?
I didn’t even expect in the first place that the show will become such a huge hit because a lot of factors were there VFX, CGI and all that. People loved the Disney’s Aladdin earlier and loved it. In our show we modified the characters and developed them. We have tried to keep it fun and light yet entertaining according to our viewership. So, the journey of Aladdin has been very special for me as I have learnt a lot of new things. The best part of the show is that we maintain a team and it’s like a family.
Did you watch Aladdin as a child? Did to try to copy any traits that you saw in cartoons or shows?
Yes, I have seen Disney’s Aladdin and I liked it a lot. The fantasy world really attracted me. Yes, I tried to borrow some character traits from the shows and movies, I tried to observe their movements, reactions and facial reactions to make it look real. I tried comedy for the first time so I worked hard to build and develop my character.
About season 2, Siddharth said that it will be worth watching and the new twists will keep viewers glued to their screens. Up until now Aladdin has faced a lot, but now he will show who the true hero is.
