Shruti Ulfat gets chatty about her role in Jamai Raja

Shruti Ulfat, as mentioned by us, will soon be seen in four different shows enacting diverse and intriguing characters.

Amongst the lot, she is a part of Zee TV’s Jamai Raja (Sagar Pictures and Grazing Goat Pictures). In a recent chat she got all chatty about it.

Says Shruti, “In Jamai Raja too, I would be seen essaying a mother. This is not something different than what I have essayed in my past but the way my character will be presented would be unique. While I will be seen as a mother, I would also be my son’s best friend. Also, in this show I won’t be glamour clad unlike the other projects I have been seen in. I would come across as a classy uptown woman in the show. “

“While the plot would speak of a family with a lot of tension, my character, Simran Khurana would maintain the fun element where I would be seen as my bubbly self amidst the anxiety.”

Talking about the show, Shruti mentions that she took up the show as it’s unlike the usual women centric shows we see on television.

“We have watched in daily soaps where the bahu steps in the sasural and brings in a sense of harmony and warmth into a family. But Jamai Raja breaks the convention. It is high time that the men of the house too start taking responsibility. The bahus have done it all along, why can’t the jamais?”
