Actor Shravan Reddy, talks about his character, new show and more with us…
It has hardly been a few months since Splitsvilla season seven got over and Hyderabad’s boy Shravan Reddy has already bagged a lead role in Star Plus upcoming serial, Dosti.. Yariyaan.. Manmarzian produced by Swastik Productions.
This 26 year old, who had earlier done shows like Jersy No.10 on SAB TV and Yeh Hai Aashiqui, spoke to us about his new role and journey so far…
How has your journey been so far?
When I came to Mumbai, I was just 19 years old and within a short span of time I bagged a role in Jersy No.10 and at the same time I was doing Yaha ke Hum Sikander. But after that I was on a sabbatical for four years as I met with an accident. That was the most difficult and challenging face of my life, but it also made a very strong person at the same time. Now with God’s grace, I am perfectly fine and back with this new show Dosti.. Yariyaan.. Manmarzian.
How is the feeling as you are playing one of the protagonists on the show after a long break?
I am quite happy with the kind of role I have bagged with this production house. This show will be aired on one of the best channels that is Star Plus. It’s a prime time show and Swastik Productions have done a justified job with this serial.
How different is your character from real life Shravan? How challenging was it for you to portray the same?
Generally what happens with Star Plus’ show is that you end up doing a typical drama serial, but I am fortunate that I am getting to play a very young character at such a huge platform, where people will want to watch it again and again. I play Neil’s character, who is a Creative Director in an Ad Agency called, Birdsong. In terms of his traits, he is very quirky, very easy to go, light hearted and has his own style of eccentricity. His job is to give creative solutions and tag lines for various products. Neil is very different from Shravan, or probably we share 20 to 30 percent of a few traits that’s it. It was quite challenging for me and it’s good to show versatility to your audience.
Finally, any message for your fans?
I would divide this thing into two categories, firstly the characters on this show varies a lot. You will get to see an 18 year old cousin to 88 years old Dadaji. The viewers can relate to everyone possible. Secondly, the show’s name says it all… Dosti.. Yariyaan.. Manmarzian. So, the story line and variety of characters will definitely attract my fans to watch this show.
We wish you all the luck for your future endeavors!
