What’s to follow?
Recently, Sartaj Gill’s character Raja in ZEE TV’s Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani has seen several hardships. From meeting with an accident to spending time in jail and later getting almost slayed by Iqbal (played by Iqbal Khan) and being thrown into a deep valley, the hero has survived it all. While everyone is still under the impression that Raja is dead, he will return – this time, donning the look of a Punjabi young man. Sartaj Gill who is a Punjabi in real life too is mighty excited about this new avatar!
While speaking on his new look, Sartaj says, “It is totally different from whatever I have done in my career so far. Nobody has ever seen me in this look, though I am a Punjabi myself. I am not sure how long my new avatar will last, but I am really enjoying it. I feel like a totally different person and nobody on the sets was able to recognize me as Sartaj. I love my turban but it takes a lot of effort to drape it. It’s quite a challenge giving the right expressions with the lenses, moustache, and beard.”
He further adds, “Earlier, it used to take me 30 minutes to get ready, now it takes more than 2 hours!”
In the upcoming episodes of Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani, that has recently taken a 4-month leap, viewers will see another twist in Raja and Rani’s life. A series of unfortunate events, orchestrated by Iqbal (played by Iqbal Khan) will lead to Raja’s death (or so everyone thinks!) as he tumbles down a cliff in the course of a heated chase. Fuelled by anger and hurt deeply by the death of her husband, Rani will swear to avenge his death and the first part of her scheme is to make Iqbal fall in love with her. While everyone in Amerkot will assume that Raja is dead, Bindu will save him in a faraway village and he returns in a new avatar so that nobody will be able to recognize him.
Will Rani be successful in plotting her revenge against Iqbal? Or will her game plan backfire when Raja returns only to find her growing closer to Iqbal?
