Actress Samaira Rao will be seen in a very different avatar on the small screen. Sony SAB’s latest Trideviyaan’ will introduce the not so typical bahu Tanuja Chauhan, who is also a secret agent.
Tanuja, the younger bahu of the Chauhan family is a quintessential daughter in law at home who leads a simple life but secretly fights for the country as an undercover agent. With regards to the same, here is what she has to say –
After a film like Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, how comfortable are you with the small screen?
I played a small role in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and both the industries are very different. But I never thought of leaving the small screen. I always love working in different genres and Trideviyaan’ is one of the best concepts that I came across. It’s a thriller comedy and I always wanted to try something in comedy. SAB TV has conquered the comedy genre and this was the best way to make a comeback on the small screen.
Tell us some insights from the show.
Dinanath Chauhan is the head of the Chauhan family and he, along with his daughter and two daughter-in-laws runs a secret mission to save the nation. All the three girls possess unique powers which help them tackle the enemies in their own distinctive ways. The show will highlight the women power as they manage both their family and nation.
How will you describe your role in Trideviyaan?
I play the character of Tanuja Chauhan, the second daughter-in-law of Dinanath Chauhan (Rituraj Singh). Tanuja a.k.a Tanu is an intelligent spy, besides, she will be imprudent in her daily chores as a Bahu. She is always involved in her mission so much that she doesn’t focus much on her responsibility as a Bahu. She has a unique power which helps her in being very swift. Her pace is equivalent to that of the wind.
Tell us how different do you look in both the avatars?
All the three girls have two different looks to carry. The Indian look is more traditional. I wear a saree, while on the other hand, the agent look is much modernized with bold black leather jackets, leather pants, high boots, and short hair. It’s more modern and chic. In fact, not just the looks, but also the tone changes with both the roles.
How do all the Trideviyaans get along off the show?
The entire cast on the sets is very friendly and they made me feel welcomed immediately. As I joined the show a little late, Aishwarya was very helpful with introductions of the whole team. It’s a very welcoming environment to work in and even Rituraj sir is so approachable that I never felt left out.
