Review: Rajeev Khandelwal & the CANDID nature are the BEST things about ‘Juzz Baatt’

The much-awaited talk show is here, and here’s what we think about it..

Everyone has been desperately waiting for actor, Rajeev Khandelwal’s comeback to television for a long time now. And while, that did not happen in the form of a fiction show, it did happen in the form of a non-fiction talk show called Juzz Baatt last night. The promo of the show went on-air barely a few days ago and created a stir immediately.

Candid, unfiltered and touted to be revealing too, the show had actors and brother duo Rohit Roy and Ronit Roy coming in as the first guests. Did the show live up to the hype and promises? Let’s find out-

Before we start; so, the reason we haven’t added anything like what’s this about, is because the sbow is self-explanatory and it doesn’t need any precise clarification otherwise.

What’s Good?

I, and I am sure many certainly dreaded that this show doesn’t turn out to be like another Koffee With Karan in Hindi version; which is also the feel that the first promo of the show gave. Thankfully, it is anything but. There is a certain simplicity and genuine emotion attached to the show and the talks in it that makes it stand apart from others.

It promised several things and it almosts lives up to all of them. The first guests on the show Ronit Roy and Rohit Roy actually shared some of the most unknown and unshared things from their life, which was a genuine treat for their fans. Many shows just promise the above, but usually it’s just a recycled version of been-there-seen-that. Juzz Baatt is certainly not one of them.

While, you will be treated with some really shocking and endearing instances related tp the guests, there are two things that particularly stand out the most. One is the unseen side of any of the guests (I mean, when was the last time you saw Ronit dancing and laughing his guts out?) And two, Rajeev Khandelwal as the host is absolutely fabulous. There is a certain charm that he exhibits and he is truly candid and willing to listen and share. He doesn’t fake anything at all and his presence and his hosting is the best part about the show.

What’s Not-So-Good?

The major issue that the show faces is the tempo. While, the insightful and emotional conversations are truly amazing, the overall tempo of the show gets low quite easily and it becomes difficult to make a comeback.

The segments need innovation. While, the idea of introducing the director segment and the kids coming in seemed good, but was lacklustre otherwise. They certainly may need to come up with better segments in the upcoming episodes.

The Verdict

With a genuine novelty to it’s core concept, Rajeev’s phenomenal hosting skills and some room for improvement, Juzz Baatt is a treat for your evening on weekends. There is nothing in the show you would completely despise, but there is room to get better.

And in the upcoming episode, we have Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya coming in, which promises to be another amazing episode.
