The show that stars Shaheer Sheikh as Salim and Sonarika Bhadoria as Anarkali, also boasts of an ensemble cast of actors like Shahbaz Khan, Piyush Sahdev, Gurdeep Kohli, Amrita Srivastava among others.
And now joining the cast in a pivotal role, that of Anarkali’s mother Jhillan, is actress Shruti Ulfat. Shruti was last seen in Star Plus’ Naamkarann.
We contacted Shruti who told us, “Yes, I play Anarkali’s foster mother in the show. She is a very dignified and poised person who brings up Anarkali as her own flesh and blood and is very protective of her daughter.”
Jhillan and Anarkali will be seen escaping their home in the Fars province (now known as Persia), into Hindustan after their are attacked. Jhillan and Anarkali will eventually be rescued by Emperor Akbar’s troops and be brought to their tents, where she will eventually join Jodha’s tribe of Daasis.
