Colors’ Code Red will bring forth the unique message of battling demons, whether in the form of insecurity, low self-esteem, inferiority complex, suicides, entrapment and violence against women and children.
Code Red will be seen under three taglines – Umeed, Chakravyuh and Aawaaz. And the first episode of Code Red – Umeed, produced by Fremantle India will see talented actor Puneet Sachdev playing a central role.
Puneet, who was last seen in a negative portrayal in Colors’ Madhubala, will for a change play a very positive guy in the episodic.
A source states, “The story will be about a banker by the name of Naveen, played by Puneet Sachdev. He will have a wife and mother, and will be extremely positive by nature. The story will revolve around how one of the central characters will get into a low self-esteem mode, and will lose all aspirations to live, and will get suicidal by nature.”
When contacted, Puneet told us, “Well, I have always played lot many negative roles on TV. But this episodic in Code Red will be very different, as I play an out-and-out positive role. I took it up as a challenge, as I wanted the actor inside me to enjoy the good roles too (smiles). After my negative role in Madhubala, I am consciously avoiding doing negative roles. And I hope this role in Code Red will break the shackles, and I get to play a positive guy in my next daily soap.”
Actress Pujha Verma plays Puneet’s wife.
