Banerjee has confirmed that she has quit her leading role in Jagat Janani Maa Vaishnodevi. The actor was roped in to play to the lead role in the show in February 2020 and even shot for a month before the lockdown was imposed. And apart from that, Banerjee only recently got married to Kunal Verma, her longtime boyfriend in a closed ceremony owing to the pandemic.
In times where people are talking about shoot, getting resumed soon and several actors also mentioning how they have been dying to get back to work; anyone quitting a show has rarely happened. However, that isn’t all the rarer lately where we talked about multiple actors putting in their papers that included the likes of Gurucharan Singh aka Sodhi from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
And now, actor Puja Banerjee has confirmed that she has quit her leading role in Jag Jaanani Maa Vaishnodevi. The actor was roped in to play to the lead role in the show in February 2020 and even shot for a month before the lockdown was imposed. And apart from that, Banerjee only recently got married to Kunal Verma, her longtime boyfriend in a closed ceremony owing to the pandemic.
In an interview with Bombay Times, Banerjee opened up on why she decided to quit the show. She said, “I got married recently and wanted to take a break. I really need some time for myself after marriage. ”
Ask the actress if the COVID-19 situation has forced her to quit and she said, “No, the makers have taken the necessary precautions. That’s not the reason why I have quit.”
One would also remember how Banerjee and Verma were initially supposed to have a lavish wedding on 15th April but they canceled those plans and donated the entire money to help those in need.
