PromoReview: ‘Tujhse Hai Raabta’ seemingly tackles the STEP MOTHER-DAUGHTER relationship well

But with just some cliches..
Zee TV is on a certain spree of rolling out new shows one after the other with the latest one being Yeh Teri Galiyaan, which went on-air last week. And only when we thought that the current lot of shows are all set, the channel will soon be presenting yet another new show in the form of Tujhse Hai Raabta, created by Bahu Hamari Rajni_Kant producer Sonali Jaffar and starring Reem Sheikh, Poorva Gokhale and Amrapali Sinha in lead roles.
The promo recently went live and here’s what we think about it-
What’s It About-
The 40+ second promo isn’t convoluted for anyone to understand, where the makers have made things clear that this saga is about three women overall. A daughter, her mother and her step-mother.
Teenager Reem plays the daughter, where we see visuals of how she has the most amazing and sweetest mother-daughter bond with her mom, Amrapali’s character.
But in absolute stark contrast, we see how she is unhappy and infact angry on how she has to live with and accept another woman (Poorva Gokhale’s character) as her mother.
In the end of the promo, she makes it clear to her step-mother that the latter can never take the place of her mother, who is no more.
What’s Good
The best things about the promo is the ease with which the plotline is explained to the viewers. There is no complicated or cryptic language here to make you wonder your interpretation.
The casting looks aptly placed, where one of the most exciting things is Poorva Gokhale’s comeback to Hindi fiction space, where she is best remembered for her debut show, Kkoi Dil Mein Hain.
What’s Not-So-Good
Coming to the storyline, it indeed is fresh and bold in it’s own sense, but there is a certain cliched feel to it, where things seem rather obvious. However, that is only the impression that the promo gives, not ruling out the show overall.
The Verdict
The clarity of the promo, the concept and the casting seems to be in harmony with each other in terms of making the show a worthy watch. Does it actually tackle the relationship of a daughter and her step-mother well? We will wait to find out..
