It is dramatic and mysterious… at the same time.
Star Plus’ recently announced the launch of ‘Star Plus Dopahar’.
And the following shows have been scheduled for their much hyped afternoon slot – Diya Aur Baati Hum sequel ‘Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh Piyaji’, Fatmagul remake ‘Kya Kasoor Hai Amla Ka?’, ‘Ek Aastha Aisi Bhee’ and ‘Dhai Kilo Prem’.
And here we are back again, with the promo review of ‘Tu Sooraj, Main Saanjh Piyaji‘.
The promo starts with Bhabho tasting the jalebis that are being served at a temple. As soon as she takes the first bite, she reminisces about Sooraj, who was a halwai. Bhabho tearfully remembers her son and proclaims to herself that she is happy today.
But when she looks around and sees the halwai who is making the jalebis’, she throws the same sweet she was gorging on a few seconds ago. The disdain on Bhabho’s face is evident and makes you wonder why?
One look at the halwai – Khanak, Bhabho gets upset, throws the jalebis’ and walks away. Bhabho expresses her disappointment and mentions how Khanak does not have even a single mannerism of Sooraj. She also declares that though Khanak is her own granddaughter, she refuses to accept her.
But Khanak sees Bhabho go, leaving her footprints behind. She goes and touches those fingerprints signifying that she requests acceptance and her grandmother’s blessings.
What’s Good:
Neelu Vaghela manages to get you teary eyed right at the beginning of the promo itself. Her ability to portray the shift in her character, from being emotional to extremely upset, amazes us even though we know that Neelu is an excellent actress.
The way the makers have shrouded the show’s integral plot and kept it under wraps has worked in their favor. And even in the promo, they have not revealed too much of the story thereby teasing the audience. This strategy has only added more to the buzz surrounding the show.
What’s Not Good:
It is too early to point out at loopholes in the show as the promo seems to be perfect. But what we feel may not work for the show is its afternoon time slot.
The verdict:
The sudden shift in the timings of the show did perturb us a bit about how the show would fare, but the promo has put our worries to rest. Neelu Waghela being the only member of the previous season’s cast in this season has a lot riding on her shoulders.
