PromoReview: Rajeev Khandelwal’s ‘Juzz Baat’ seems like the Hindi version of ‘Koffee With Karan’

It’s great to see Rajeev in a different avatar though.
You may have your favourite actors on TV these days, but back then there was just one heartthrob and that was Rajeev Khandelwal. The actor, after a really long time is making a comeback to the small screen hosting yet another show. Rajeev, even though hasn’t done a fiction show in a long time, has been active as a host, where he did Deal Ya No Deal and Sach Ka Saamna.
He is now making a comeback with the upcoming show, Juzz Baatt, which is produced by Sandiip Sickcand. The promo of the show recently went on-air, and here’s what we think
What’s It About
The concept of the promo is its true USP, and the flavour is light and funny. You see a bruised Rajeev talking to the camera on how he is beaten up by ‘him’, ‘his wife’ and ‘his girlfriend’ too.
But he later complains about how he warned the guests that the questions will be of all sorts, which may not be the ‘quintessential good ones.’
What’s Good
The little hints of the promo are absolutely fabulous, where things aren’t made too obvious by literally saying them. The line about how ‘his’ wife hit him followed by how his girlfriend also hit him insinuates that some dark secrets will be revealed in the show, but the fun will not be missed out on.
Also, it’s good to see Rajeev in a comical avatar and get candid, which we haven’t seen him doing in a while. This also denotes that the tone of the show is going to be light and fun.
What’s Not-So-Good
There is just one doubt that I, or many would have had that, the show’s look and feel gives you the impression whether it is just going to be the Hindi commercial version of Koffee With Karan. We hope it’s not just that.
The Verdict
Even though, the impression that it gives is that of it being another attempt to be like Koffee With Karan, we are giving it the benefit of doubt and hope and expect that it brings in the novelty and candid nature of celebrities that will come on the show.
