After promos like ‘Porus’ and ‘Prithvi Vallabh’, we get to see ‘Ek Deewaana Tha‘.
Sony TV released the promo of the Vikram Singh Chauhan-Donal Bisht-Namik Paul and twitteratis have been raving about it. Here’s what we feel about the promo –
What is the promo about:
The promo starts with a couple Vyom (Vikram Singh Chauhan) and Sharanya (Donal Bisht) standing in a cafe when all of a sudden, a bulb close to them bursts.
At the very same time, they feel someone’s presence near them. Sharanya suddenly starts feeling cold and when Vyom comes close to her to comfort her, all the bulbs in the cafe start to flicker, strong winds rage, a dog close to them starts barking and the bulbs burst one by one, injuring Vyom’s hand.
That is when both Vyom and Sharanya feel that something is amiss at the cafe. Very soon, a voiceover reveals how the show is a story of a love that must defy death.
What we liked:
In sharp contrast to many of Sony TV’s latest projects which have been less explored or that do not have the typical storylines, Ek Deewaana Tha is a story that we have probably seen already. Having said that, we are still excited to watch Ek Deewaana Tha and see how the show makers add their own twist to the concept so that it does not look done and dusted.
Namik Paul’s ghost’ has appeared in the promo in a blink and miss and this works for us as the suspense surrounding Namik’s character only adds to our curiosity. Also, from what we see in the promo, Vikram and Donal nail their parts.
What we did not like:
As much as we would love to give the makers a benefit of doubt with regards to experimenting with the concept, there are chances that the concept may backfire.
Verdict:
With as strong a star cast as Vikram Singh Chauhan and Namik Paul playing equally strong characters and with Donal’s flawless performance, we are really excited to know what new does Ek Deewaana Tha have to offer.
