Popular TV actor-dancer to play grown-up ‘Chandragupta Maurya’ post 5 year leap!

The actor has worked in historical fiction space before…

Sony TV’s historical drama Chandragupta Maurya, featuring child-actor Kartikey Malviya in the titular role, started last year in November and is performing decently for the channel. Now, the makers are set to introduce a five year leap in the show post which a popular actor will replace Kartikey Malviya as ‘Chandragupta Maurya’.

Faisal Khan is set to replace Kartikey Malviya as grown-up ‘Chandragupta Maurya’ post leap in Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s show. Best known for his stints in ‘Dance India Dance Li’l Masters 2’ and ‘Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap’, Faisal Khan has been asked to shed some weight and grow stubble for the titular role in Sony TV’s popular show.

Confirming his entry in ‘Chandragupta Maurya’ and talking about his comeback in fiction space after a long time, Faisal Khan told a leading daily that, he had taken a break from fiction shows as he was not a child actor anymore nor was he grown up to play the role of an adult. But, with the role of ‘Chandragupta Maurya’ and its age, everything has fallen into place.

After playing ‘Maharana Pratap’, the actor-dancer is super-excited to essay the role of ‘Chandragupta Maurya’ as both the characters are different. While, he played a young ‘Maharana Pratap’, he is now playing the grownup ‘Chandragupta’ in his new show.

On the career front, Faisal Khan went on to be a part of many reality shows including’ ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 7’, ‘DID Dance Ka Tashan’, ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8’ among others after winning ‘Dance India Dance’.
