One of the many talented actors on the show is Akash Dhar, an active theatre artist who has earlier worked with Naseeruddin Shah under the Motley Theatre Group. It seems that when Dharmesh Mehta spotted him in the television show Buddha, he was spell bound and decided to approach him for the role of Kundan Mirchandani.
In conversation with Akash, let us hear him elaborate about his character in the show.
Says Akash, “I play Kundan Mirchandani, an up-market business man. Kundan is extremely egoistic, but is very loving towards his wife at the same time. The only reason for me to take up this role is because of the diversity it offered when compared to the roles I have previously essayed. Essaying challenging roles is always fun.”
Akash who has appeared in some films, his latest being Subhash Ghai’s Kaanchi, has had enormous experience with theatre too. Ask him about the medium that has helped groom himself the most, and he quickly says, “Being a part of theatre is like commando training. There are no-retakes, so one has to make sure he is perfect in his delivery. So in those ways theatre has helped me gain confidence to showcase my talent in the way I want to present it. It is always exciting to essay varied roles and I am sure the viewers will love Kundan.”
Wish you all the best for the role of Kundan Mirchandani in Chandrakant Chiplunkar Seedi Bambawala.
