OMG! Gaurav Khanna INJURED by a SWORD in Chandrakanta!

Gaurav was shooting for an action sequence…

Action sequences always come with a disclaimer: Do not attempt these without the supervisor’s guidance. Not that we are contradicting the statement, but even under watch, a few stunts can go wrong. And here’s how.

The actors of ‘Chandrakanta’, Gaurav Khanna and Ankit Arora, who play Virendra and Shiv Dutt in the show respectively, were shooting for a sword fight sequence. And the tragedy struck when the actors were completely engrossed while filming the sequence.

Ankit’s sword came in direct contact with Gaurav’s hands, struck his fingers and crushed them. Luckily, the swords being used were made of wood and Gaurav escaped with a swollen hand.

Gaurav was in immense pain and the shoot was even stalled for an hour or so but resumed soon after. Ankit was immensely apologetic and Gaurav also took it in the right spirit.

Says Gaurav, “Yes, this accident took place but I am fine now. Such things keep happening. The injury did look serious initially, but it was just the bone impact and nothing major.”

Gaurav recovered soon enough and the shooting resumed.
