Music is definitely on my mind at the moment – Raj Singh

Raj Singh is pretty excited to play a singer onscreen in Star Plus’ very popular show, Ek Veer Ki Ardaas – Veera, produced by Beyond Dreams. The actor who essays the role of Anmol, a struggling singer in Mumbai who is trying to make it big as a singer, is thrilled as the channel and production house are leaving no stone unturned to make this particular reality show track a hit.

Talking about it, Raj told us, “I feel I am a rock star, looking at the magnificent way in which we are shooting for this singing reality show in Veera. And to have class music directors like Sharib and Toshi in front of us, is a dream come true. I get goosebumps when I am singing before them.”

When asked if he is good at singing, Raj said, “Well, I am a bathroom singer. Having said this, I have improved a lot from the time I have entered the sets of Veera (smiles). I am trying hard to get into the skin of the character, and to portray the role of a singer I need to have only music on my mind. I have been successful in doing that, and I use my free time listening to songs and also rehearsing my songs. If I had some more time to prepare for the role, I would have definitely gone in for a singing tutor to brush up my skills.”

Raj who is a good listener when it comes to music feels that music inspires one and all to live a life of peace. “Rafi saab’s songs inspire me a lot. I also listen to Kishore dada’s songs and Atif Aslam’s too. Atif’s songs are easy to catch, while Kishore dada’s are very difficult to follow.”

When asked if this role of a singer in Veea is his dream role, and Raj averred, “No, but yes this is a challenging role and I am glad that I have got something new to do.”
