Aashka Goradia, in this conversation with us, speaks on the special festival of Uttaraya.
It is the kite flying day! It is Makar Sankranti!! Besides flying kites on Uttarayan, it is also known for TilGul Ke Laddu. It may essentially be a Gujarati festival, but it is celebrated all over India by everyone in full zest and gusto.
Pretty actress Aashka Goradia who is currently seen in Sony TV’s Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap as Dheer Bai Bhatiyani, too has a keen interest in rejoicing the much loved festival, Uttarayan.
When got in touch with Aashka, she promptly responded, “I remember, as a kid when I was in Ahmedabad, I used to wake up at 4 in the morning and made sure I reach the terrace by 6 am. Ahmedabad is known for rejoicing Uttarayan on a grand scale. Now that I have shifted to Mumbai, I do not celebrate. Talking about my childhood, all my memories are with my mama. Every alternate year I travel to Ahmedabad for Makar Sankranti. This year I am in Mumbai shooting so did not visit my home town.”
Well Aashka, the way you celebrate is surely interesting!
