“Learning guitar has always been my passion!” – Ankit Gera

In this exclusive chat with us, Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke fame Ankit Gera speaks about his love for guitar.

Ankit Gera who is currently seen in Zee TV’s much loved show Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke has found the best remedy to kill time on sets. We got to know that Ankit has been very fond of learning guitar and it is this passion of his that he uses to utilize the free time on sets. In this candid conversation, Ankit speaks about his love for guitar, how he managed learning and it and a lot more. Read on!

“I wanted to learn guitar since a long time but the thing is that it takes a lot of practice. I was shooting back to back for my other shows. So before Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, I got time because our show got delayed in launching due to IPL. I was like this is a good time to learn guitar so I asked a friend of mine to help me. He taught me how to hold the guitar and also the chords. And he told me that once you know the chords, you can learn from YouTube. He taught me for a day and then I started practicing on my own. I used to practice for seven hours a day and I did that for six months.”

“Every midnight I used to take the guitar and practice till early morning. I found that time the best time to practice as you get all the silence and peace that you require for learning and practicing a guitar. I could focus on it. I actually took around three-four months to hold a guitar and to get that grip. Eventually, I got the rhythm of it and I started playing. Guitar is something that you can never learn everything; there is so much more to it.”

Which guitar do you prefer the most? Electronic or the normal?

“I play both Electronic as well as the normal guitar. I actually have two – one at my place and the other one I have with me in my car. I play all the songs on guitar but in specific, I like playing the song Banhaara from Ek Villain because I really love that song.”
