The shows need to keep experimenting to keep up with the heating competition and TRP race. Among many other ways, taking a few years’ leap brings freshness to the story, which might draw better audiences to the show. Post Sony TV’s Kuch Rang Pyaar ke and Zee TV’s Kaala Teeka, &TV’s Waaris will now be taking a leap.
According to sources, Waaris is soon to take a major leap in the show. It is said that kids will grow up. The cast, however, has not yet been locked.
Aarti Singh. playing the lead character Amma, speaking to us said, “The leap is still under discussion and we are deciding on it. This week, our ratings have gone up, therefore, a final decision is yet to be taken. Moreover, the show is about Amma and Mannu and nothing can fade away the strong characters. The show must go on. A leap in a show, after a year of it’s run, is not a problem.”
On asking about her character and association with the show post leap, Aarti said, “I have played the mother before and went on to play the leads of other shows after that. Nowadays, the television scenario has changed and playing a mother does not matter anymore, as long as you don’t look old in real. Just do a good job and you will always be remembered and have a place.”
We also hear that the major character of Amma, played by Aarti Singh, will also be replaced.
Waaris was launched as an earthy dramatic series Waaris, based on the Bacha Posh concept and has touched the chords on many levels. The struggles and helplessness of a mother to raise her daughter as a boy, so that she does not get killed because of the gender is worth the watch. The show is based in Punjab and even after having such a different theme, it couldn’t garner much popularity.
Let’s see if something new in the show helps it grow better.
