As a host you have lot of responsibilities: Gauahar Khan

Talented actress Gauahar Khan is soon to be seen as a host on Star Plus’ new show India’s Raw Star.

Reality show Bigg Boss Saath 7 winner Gauahar Khan is coming back on television and this time as a host in a reality show, India’s Raw Star which will be aired on Star Plus.

We interviewed the actress for her new show India’s Raw Star.

You have been part of reality shows as contestant so how different is hosting a reality show from being a contestant?

As a host you have lot of responsibilities of handling the entire show. When you are a participant, you only have to speak for yourself; you yourself are responsible for your actions but as host one are responsible for the entire show as how it goes about; how people like it, are you entertaining enough; are you able to take the show forward and so on. So I feel this is a bigger responsibility. But I am glad as I have shot for the first episode and people came and appreciated my work. I got relieved after the channel and production house came and told that I was fab in the first shoot. Now I hope even the audience love me as a host.

How will be your bond with the contestants in the show?

I will be more like a friend and a guide. I have met them and I talk to them on a friendly basis as we are probably of same age in fact few are younger to me, so I can give advice as I have been around little longer then they have. They are in music industry so I can’t give them music tips but I can tell them about styling, personality, I can tell them about what they should bring out more within them. So basically I am more like a friend to them.

This is a music show so how much are you connected to music?

I am connected to music from heart. I love listening to good stuff as I cannot hear loud music that is not my kind of music. I like soothing music, I like music that touches my heart and the show is exactly about it, contestants will perform the things that they want their audience to love. So I love music but I am not much addicted to it.

What made you to take the show?

The fact that Gajendra Singhji trusted me so much that he wanted me on the show not just as a host but as a solo host, he thought that I am good enough to take his the show ahead and then of course Star Plus who felt me as a right choice for the show India’s Raw Star. There are only two big elements of the show one is Yo Yo Honey Singh and other is the host because there are no judges, so there are no expert comments that are going to come except from Yo Yo Honey Singh. He will be treating the contestants as babies because he brought them. So this chemistry needs to work on the show and take it ahead so we can have many more seasons and new performers coming up. Basically I took this show as it will be a brand in itself and the names that will come out from the show will be of Yo Yo Honey Singh and me.

What will be your Style statement on the show?

The dressing will be of my sensibility. It will be 100% of my sense, something that suits me. I will not wear that does not fit me. Everything that will be seen on the show will be styled by my brains along with my stylist. It will be very young and very fun, not very formal. It will be something that enhances my personality.

Lastly if given a chance would you act in a daily soap?

Only if I get a Tadakta Badakta lead role otherwise no ways for daily soap.
