Deepika Padukone is really hot: Rohan Mehra

Making heads turn as the dashing Naksh on Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehtlata Hai (Directors Kut), Rohan Mehra can’t thank his stars enough for bagging the popular show.

Recently, the young actor spoke with us about his journey, his plans and a lot more…read on:

“I belong to Delhi and was actively pursuing modelling when I got noticed and was offered few shows. I did Bade Achhe Lagte Hai and a few episodics, before the movie Yuva came along.”

“I was surprised to get a call from the production and asked to give a look test for Naksh. It all worked out and Rajan Sir (Shahi) called me to congratulate on being selected for the role!” He added.

With the show being all about Naitik (Karan Mehra) and Akshara (Hina Khan), we wondered how he will make his position on the show. “To tell you honestly, post the leap, Naksh definitely became an important part of their lives and it will remain so. The character is a very strong one and will be the focus as he will get the family together. So I definitely have no reason to complain.”

With him playing a pampered child on screen, how is he in real life? “Aaah…I am as pampered in real life too! My parents are like friends to me and it is a jovial family. But unlike my onscreen character, I am closer to my dad who has stood by me all this while. He has been the one who took the strong step of shifting base to Mumbai so that I could concentrate on work,” he said.

Since he is good looking and popular, has he ever used it as an advantage, we asked. “Not at all. People recognise me but I have never used it to get any kind of benefits. As for girls, well it’s a wrong notion that they get impressed by such qualities (laughs). It doesn’t work that way for me, dating and love will happen, but not through this. And for now, I am happy concentrating on my work.”

Finally, we asked the guy to share three secrets about himself. “Secrets should be kept a secret na? But I will tell you some unknown facts about myself. First, I was a national level table tennis player and a very good one. Secondly, I find Deepika Padukone hot and lastly, if not an actor, I would have been doing well working in my dad’s business in Amritsar.”
