Talking about his character the young actor averred, “I am having a super time on the show. This is a very rugged, raw and colourful character, very different from what I have played earlier in my shows. He is almost like Dharmendra of Sholay. This is the liveliest character I have played so far and I am really enjoying myself.”
Rushiraj has been part of mythological and historical shows so far and when asked whether he makes it a conscious decision of taking up such roles, the actor averred, “You can say that, but then it also depends on the characters that I get approached for. The director and DOP of the show are the same, with whom I worked with in Chandragupta. So when I was offered the role I called him up and asked his take. He told me to wait and once he got the briefing, he asked me to come on board immediately.”
The actor was also approached to play the young Pratap when the show was to be launched. When asked whether he felt he was destined to be on the show, the young lad said, “I don’t really think so as I feel Faisal (Khan) was brilliant as Pratap. The character was written for him and I feel Patta is written for me. So I surely have no complaints. I was approached for the role, but then I was too tied up with Mahadev at that time.”
When asked how his bonding has been with Ssharad, the grown-up Pratap, Rushiraj quipped, “He is a really sweet person and very down to earth. He actually treats me like a younger brother. We got to spend some time in Jaisalmer where we shot for our entry sequence. Our characters although are enemies right now, will become the closest of friends later. I am actually looking forward to the story ahead.”
Wish you luck Rushiraj!
