The energetic and enthralling Vishal Dadlani, who has created magic with music in Bollywood, is back on TV as a judge in the second season of Indian Idol Junior (Fremantle).
Talking about the Sony Entertainment Television’s popular reality show, the music maestro said, “This year the energies and talents are very different. I am feeling incomplete without Shekhar (Ravjiani), though I am happy to have my good friends Shalmali (Kholgade) and Salim (Merchant) as company. This year the show is experimenting with a mixed bag of judges. I am from the junior panel, Salim is from the regular one and Sonakshi (Sinha) and Shalmali are completely new! This will add to the fun.”
Talking about the talent that Vishal’s seen this year, he quipped, “I think it is unbelievable. I am privileged and honoured to see these young music prodigies perform in front of me.”
When we asked him whether these kids get upset with rejection, he defended saying, “You can achieve nothing in life without failing. But for us, the objective is to make the youngsters learn sportsmanship and be better human beings.”
“These kids are not here for fame, they hardly care about that. They are so much in love with music that they want a way to express it. And we are giving them a platform with this show. Also, the contestants will go through a lot of trainings which will further polish their skills. Music can never be formed in isolation and you need to be exposed to people’s opinions to become stronger. Lastly, we wish to tell them that even if they not win all, the love for music will continue with you till the end,” he added.
Great thought, Vishal!
