The last month of the year 2016 has begun and we will be presenting the highlights of the whole year in different forms and today, we begin with the NEWLY launched shows of the year that managed to wow us and leave a mark.
So, let’s rock and roll…
Jaana Na Dil Se Door : Jaana Na Dil Se Door was an underdog with no really ‘popular’ faces starring as the leads. In fact, the unconventional early evening time slot too was a major disadvantage primarily. However, against all odds, the content and stellar acting performances of Vikram Singh Chauhan, Shivani Surve & Shashank Vyas have made this show a sleeper success.
Bahu Hamari Rajni_Kant : Talking about underdogs and being a sleeper success, another show which absolutely qualifies in this category would be the robot comedy, ‘Bahu Hamari Rajni_Kant‘. Who would have thought that a comedy show about a robot with a debutante protagonist would become the success it is today. Courtesy the phenomenal performance of Ridhima Pandit aka Rajni and the crisp writing with genuine humour, this NEW show is a treat.
Ek Duje Ke Vaaste : You know that a show is loved immensely when the fans of the show, after the show has gone off-air, still gets love, admiration, and adulation. ‘Ek Duje Ke Vaaste’ became the talk of the town when the show’s abrupt off-air rumours hit the web and then it happened. Barring all the protests and fans’ backlash, the show had the fresh pairing of Namik Paul and Nikita Dutta which was truly loved.
Ishqbaaaz : The canvas of the show was opulent since the first look of it. And it had the comeback of ‘Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha…Pyaara Pyaara…’ actor, Nakuul Mehta. However, not many would have thought ‘Ishqbaaaz‘ would become the surprise success that it has now. Though the show had ‘been there done that’ concepts, the different treatment and presentation made the show a success.
Beyhadh : It was one of the most awaited shows of this year which marked the comebacks of actors Jennifer Winget and Kushal Tandon to the small screen. And we can safely say that, though the show is barely two months old, it has been a revolution in Indian television. Thrill, grit, dark and spectacular content with amazing performances makes ‘Beyhadh‘ a treat.
Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi : Several articles have already been written and many things have already been said about how ‘Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi‘ is hands-down, one of the absolute treat this year. Presenting a realistic concept with a practical take and the stellar performances of Shaheer Sheikh, Supriya Pilgaonkar, and Erica Fernandes, the show is certainly that NEW show that wowed us.
Shakti… Astitva Ke Ehsaas Kii : While shows like ‘Kuch Rang’ and ‘Beyhadh’ may have been appreciated for being content driven, the rating charts have shied away from them. However, just like a blockbuster film, Colors’ Shakti… Astitva Ke Ehsaas Kii‘ has managed to conjoin the two and give us a treat being a rating topper. Exploring the untouched concept of a ‘kinnar’ and the struggles, the show had the bonus of superstar comebacks in the form of Vivian Dsena and Rubina Dilaik.
