BB13: Traders Body Seeks Ban on Bigg Boss 13; Calls ‘BFF’ Concept Immoral

After #Boycott_Bigboss trend, Confederation of All India Traders is seeking a ban on the Colors’ controversial reality show Bigg Boss 13, raising objections against the concept of male and female contestants sharing the same bed…

Bigg Boss 13 is one of the most popular and controversial shows on Indian Television. The Colors’ reality show which premiered a week back has already started making headlines. The show has landed into a major controversy. And this time it’s not because of the housemates but for the show’s unique concept of ‘Bed Friend Forever’ which makes male and female participants share the same bed.

#Boycott_Bigboss was already trending on Twitter since last evening and now adding to the drama is the Confederation of All India Traders, CAIT which is against the concept of BFF, incorporated for the first time in the current season of Bigg Boss. On Sunday, CAIT wrote to Information and Broadcasting Minister, Prakash Javdekar urging to ban the reality show.

As per a report in The Hindu Business Line, the trader’s body stated that our country’s traditional and cultural values are being tarnished in the lust of TRP and profits while talking about the concept. According to the group, the concept of BFF is immoral.

The secretary of CAIT, Praveen Khandelwal was quoted as saying, “In the current show, the concept of ‘Bed Friend Forever’ is highly deplorable and is against all moral ethics of the television world. The makers of the show have forgotten that it is the prime time slot on TV when this show is telecast and people of all age groups watch the show.”

Apart from Bigg Boss, recently Television shows and web series like Ram Siya Ke Luv Kush, Pehredaar Piya Ki, Leila and Sacred Games landed into a similar controversy.
