Chowdhry opened up on how he has no qualms in playing the character giving the example of Sanjeev Kumar in Sholay as to how inspite of being the same age as Amitabh Bachchan, he played an older character in the film.
Sony TV’e Beyhadh 2 has managed to achieve a lot of love yet again after the mammoth success that the first season was.
If there is one major highlight about the show apart from Jennifer Winget’s stellar performance as Maya then that is Ashish Chowdhry’s salt-and-pepper look and act as Mrityunjay.
However, given that the actor is playing an on-screen father to grown-ups in the show, one may wonder if he had any inhibitions playing the role at all. In an interview with Bombay Times, Chowdhry opened up on how he has no qualms in playing the character giving the example of Sanjeev Kumar in Sholay as to how inspite of being the same age as Amitabh Bachchan, he played an older character in the film. He further mentioned how he is inspired from actor Kevin Spacey’s roles in international TV shows and felt that it was time to cross over and do something important – be it on any medium.
Chowdhry made a huge name for himself playing comedy roles in multi-starrer comedies, especially the Dhamaal franchise. However, evidently he wasn’t a part of Total Dhamaal and Chowdhry stated the reason for the same was that he was working on Dev for Colors that time. He further mentioned how he cannot forever be a part of multi-starrer comedies as sometimes you need to do roles that have maturity and depth.
