The actor was away from the sets because of the government imposed COVID-19 restriction which did not allow actors above 65 to continue shooting.
Arvind Vaidya, who is currently seen as Hasmukh Shah aka Baapuji in Rajan Shahi’s “Anupamaa“, is back on the sets. The actor said he shares a great bond with his co-stars Rupali Ganguly and Paras Kalnawat and confessed that they are popularly called “Teen Tigada” on the set.
He said, “With Rupali Ganguly, I have worked in ‘Baa Bahoo Aur Baby’ so we have a special connection. I also have a good bonding with Paras Kalnawat and he is also a relative of mine in real life. They both keep checking on me on set. We three are often tagged as ‘Teen Tigada’ on set.”
The actor was away from the sets because of the government imposed COVID-19 restriction which did not allow actors above 65 to continue shooting. He shot from home for a while, but now that the ban is lifted, he is back on the set.
Sharing his excitement, he said, “I am delighted to be back on the set and can’t express my happiness. Not shooting is like a sazaye kaala pani for an actor and I have experienced that in the last few weeks. In between, I was shooting from home also. The production house – Director’s Kut – was extremely helpful and used to send the technical person at home and we used to record. My scenes were happening only on phone. I missed work so much that I embraced that opportunity nicely. There was a lot of coordination needed though.”
The actor, who has been part of shows like “Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai”, “Saas Bina Sasural”, to name a few, called Rajan a great storyteller and even appreciated him for personally keeping an eye on all the safety and precautionary measure for Coronavirus.
He said, “I know Rajan Shahi for many years now but this is the first time I am working with him. He is an absolute pleasure to work with, a great storyteller, and has an eye for casting. His set is completely safe to work with. When I resumed my work again, my daughter Vandana Pathak who is also an actress, called me and asked me about the health and hygiene on set. She is a daughter and it is quite normal for her to ask. But once I reached the set, I found everything is just perfect. I have not even got a welcome hug also from my cast as a precaution. I am an actor and I am happy in front of the camera only.”
Arvind also admitted that the show has been doing well because of its relatable content, and added, “While watching this emotional story of ‘Anupamaa’, the audience can actually relate themselves. If you see my character also, I am like a sutradhar in the family and try to attach my family with a string though there are lot of uncertainties. Since the time I have started portraying Hashmukh Shah I have been getting so much positive feedback from the audience. Even people on the road recognize me.”
